Retaining garden wall built from stone. Top course had come loose, tree roots had started taking over. Prepped the work area with sheets, set up a work zone, lifted the loose stones and cleared the beds, in some areas the damage was to ground level. Knocked up a strong 5:2:2 sand, lime and cement hybrid mortar with a blend of 1 parts sharp sand to one part building sand aggregate.

The labourer came in his trainers, not generally accepted but a one off as it was private work on a weekend. He left with lceaner shoes than when we arrived. Testament to years of experience.

This work was arranged through a house keeping agency. The owner was wealthy businessman. His housekeeper sounded like a member of parliament!.
